About this opportunity

Army Contracting Command–Anniston Army Depot (ACCANAD), within the Department of Defense, is issuing a Special Notice for an Area of Interest covering depot-level metal cleaning, surface preparation, and finishing services for combat vehicle components, with Phase 1 Solution Brief responses due October 28, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. CDT. No set-aside is used. The notice is not a solicitation: ACCANAD is not obligated to issue a request for proposal or make an award, awards are subject to availability of funds and successful negotiations, and the notice does not authorize performance or reimburse response costs. Required capabilities include chemical cleaning, abrasive media cleaning, and plating or coating processes (anodizing, chromate conversion, black oxide, electroless nickel, hard chrome, zinc, tin, copper, and phosphate). Chemical cleaning must remove a minimum of 99 percent of paint without damaging base metals. Contractors must meet a seven-working-day turnaround that begins at contractor pickup at the designated ANAD pickup and drop-off point, and contractors manage pickup and delivery. The Government performs 100 percent inspection, and rejected parts are recleaned at no cost to the Government. The Phase 1 Solution Brief should describe available equipment, facility capacity, tank or blast-room sizes, rack configurations, weight limits, crane clearances, the turnaround plan, the quality assurance approach for ASTM and MILSPEC testing, demonstrated experience, and rough-order-of-magnitude pricing. Detailed design records, drawings, specifications, quantities, and lot sizes will be provided in Phase 2. Submission and evaluation procedures are set out in the full CSO W911KF25SC0002 posting on SAM.gov.
