About this opportunity

The United States Department of Agriculture Agricultural Research Service (USDA-ARS) is conducting a Sources Sought Notice for annual preventative maintenance services for a Getinge LSS 130/275 Sterilizer located in their Plains Area facility. The agency is initially intending to award a sole source contract to Getinge USA Sales, LLC, but is seeking market research to determine potential alternative providers of similar maintenance services. Respondents must provide a detailed capability statement addressing the maintenance requirements, including their business size, SAM UEI number, CAGE code, and any small business certifications. The agency requests vendors identify any potential competitive restrictions and provide comprehensive documentation supporting their organizational and staff capabilities. All responses must be submitted by December 23, 2024, with the understanding that no feedback will be provided, and the government is not obligated to proceed with a competitive solicitation.

The pre-solicitation notice indicates that based on market research responses, the contract may be set aside for small businesses across various categories, including 8(a), HUBZone, SDVOSB, and WOSB. The performance period will encompass a base year from January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2025, with four potential option years extending through December 31, 2029. The maintenance contract requires four quarterly preventative inspections and one annual major maintenance service, with all service representatives mandated to be original equipment manufacturer (OEM) certified. While specific award values are not disclosed, the solicitation falls under NAICS category 811210 for Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance. The first maintenance inspection must occur within 30 business days of contract award, with subsequent quarterly inspections throughout each performance year.
