About this opportunity
The Department of Agriculture Forest Service is seeking a small business contractor to perform comprehensive building safety upgrades at the Angell Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center in Yachats, Oregon. The project encompasses multiple critical infrastructure improvements, including electrical room door panic hardware installations, electrical system updates, metal roof reconstruction, landing and stair repairs, masonry restoration, and hazardous materials storage ventilation enhancements. The pre-solicitation notice indicates that contractors will need to provide all materials, equipment, labor, and transportation necessary to complete the scope of work. While specific evaluation criteria are not explicitly detailed, the technical specifications suggest that contractors must demonstrate capabilities in multiple construction disciplines, including electrical work, carpentry, roofing, and masonry repair. The opportunity is currently posted with a response deadline of March 25, 2025, and interested contractors should carefully review the accompanying technical specifications document for comprehensive project requirements.
The contract is designated as a total small business set-aside, specifically categorized under Commercial and Institutional Building Construction (NAICS 236220) with a Product Service Code of Maintenance/Repair/Rebuild of Equipment. Though exact budget figures are not specified, the comprehensive nature of the upgrades across multiple buildings suggests a potentially significant project scope. The work must be coordinated around occupied facilities, with construction activities limited to standard business hours of 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Contractors will be required to maintain site access, protect existing facilities, and meet stringent technical standards, including installing Class 1 Division 1 rated electrical components and using high-performance materials like FRP doors and metal roofing systems with 20-year weathertight warranties. The project represents a comprehensive infrastructure improvement initiative for the Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center, requiring a multidisciplinary approach to building safety and renovation.
