About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure amplifier-power supplies (NSN 7G-5895-016201068) for repair and modification, specifically the DMR-200W-00 model. The government intends to solicit and negotiate with a single source under FAR 6.302-1, acknowledging they do not own the technical data rights for this part and find it uneconomical to purchase or reverse engineer the data. All interested firms are required to include their CAGE code on solicitation requests, and the government will consider proposals received within 45 days of publication (or 30 days if awarded under an existing Basic Ordering Agreement). The acquisition is not being processed under FAR Part 12 for commercial items, and interested parties may identify their capability to satisfy the requirement within 15 days of the notice. Potential contractors should be aware that the procurement may be subject to Free Trade Agreements and related defense procurement regulations.

This pre-solicitation notice is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside, indicating that only small businesses are eligible to compete for the contract. The procurement involves four (4) units of the amplifier-power supply to be delivered to two separate DLA Distribution locations: New Cumberland, PA, and Tracy, CA. While specific award value is not disclosed, the government's approach suggests a focused, potentially sole-source procurement. The opportunity is currently in a pre-solicitation phase, with a due date extending to June 30, 2025, providing an extended window for potential contractors to express interest. The procurement falls under the PSC Category 7G20 for IT and Telecom Network Analog Voice Products, specifically targeting hardware components. Contractors should carefully review the potential application of Trade Agreements and Buy American Act provisions that might be included in the final solicitation.
