About this opportunity

The US Geological Survey (USGS) is conducting market research to identify qualified vendors capable of supplying replacement parts for three Amiad AMF-93K 2-micron water filter systems. This pre-solicitation notice is not a formal request for proposal but rather a sources sought announcement designed to inform the government's acquisition strategy and assess vendor availability. Interested businesses must submit product data sheets demonstrating their ability to meet the technical specifications outlined in the accompanying documentation, with submissions limited to electronic mail format addressed to yangzhideng@usgs.gov. The government will evaluate responses based on vendors' capability to provide manufacturer-equivalent parts approved for use in the specified filter systems. All responses must be received by January 12, 2026, at 12:00 PM Pacific Standard Time, and the government notes it is not obligated to issue a purchase order or contract based on this market research effort.

This procurement carries no small business set-aside designation, and no incumbent contractor information is identified in the announcement. The replacement parts requirement encompasses 11 specific components across three filter units, including O-ring seals, piston assemblies, gaskets, and tail assemblies, with quantities ranging from two to three units per part. Delivery is required to the USGS Western Fisheries Research Center in Seattle, Washington, with the parts needed as soon as possible following any award decision. The applicable NAICS code is 221310 (Water Supply and Irrigation Systems) with a $41 million size standard, and the Product Service Code is 4610 (Water Purification Equipment). While no specific budget range has been disclosed, the scope of this procurement suggests a relatively modest contract value focused solely on parts procurement with no associated labor or installation services.
