About this opportunity

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is seeking to procure 7,895 AMGLO PAR38 incandescent lamps under part number 60PAR38/SP10/120B/AK for use in the MALSR (Medium-Intensity Approach Lighting System with Runway Alignment Indicator Lights) system. This solicitation (6973GH-25-Q-00135) is designated as a brand name mandatory procurement, meaning AMGLO's PAR38 lamp is the only approved product for this specific aviation lighting application. Vendors must provide documentation proving they have rights to use the original equipment manufacturer's data or are authorized distributors of the OEM, as statements indicating future acquisition of data or development of specifications will not be accepted. The procurement will be awarded as a firm fixed-price contract to the lowest-priced, technically acceptable offeror who meets all requirements. The solicitation was issued on June 5, 2025, with quotations due by June 20, 2025, at 1400 Central Time, and all vendors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM).

This procurement does not include any small business set-asides and falls under NAICS code 335999 (All Other Miscellaneous Electrical Equipment and Component Manufacturing) with a size standard of 600 employees. While no specific budget range is provided in the solicitation, the substantial quantity of 7,895 lamps suggests a significant contract value for the successful vendor. The contract requires delivery within 65 days after receipt of order, with performance taking place at the FAA Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The lamps are identified with NSN 6240-01-344-4811-N and are critical components for airport lighting systems that ensure safe aircraft approach and landing operations. Given the brand name mandatory nature of this procurement, only AMGLO or its authorized distributors are positioned to compete for this opportunity.
