About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 10 is conducting a sole-source procurement for maintenance services on reverse osmosis and water treatment equipment at the John D. Dingell VA Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan, with a response deadline of May 11, 2026 at 4:00 pm EST.
The Government intends to award a firm fixed price contract to AmeriWater LLC for maintenance of Original Equipment Manufacturer reverse osmosis systems, HeatSan equipment, and Acid Distribution Loops under FAR Section 6.302-1, citing AmeriWater's proprietary rights to instruments and software and the requirement for OEM-certified technicians. The contract runs two years from May 1, 2026 to April 30, 2028 (base year plus one optional one-year renewal). The contractor must supply all parts, labor, and materials for scheduled preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, and performance verification. Service requirements include 24/7 remote diagnostics, one-hour response to emergencies with same-day or next-day on-site arrival, completion of scheduled maintenance within one working day, and placement of equipment and supplies within eight hours of emergency service requests. The contractor must assign a primary and backup Field Service Representative, each holding completion of formalized OEM training and a minimum of one year of experience on the same equipment make and model. All replacement parts must be new with 60-day warranties; emergency repair services are capped at 16 hours charged as needed. Competitors must submit clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to Angelo Vivio at Angelo.Vivio@va.gov by May 11, 2026 at 4:00 pm EST. The business size standard threshold is $25 million.
