About this opportunity
NASA Marshall Space Flight Center announced a sole-source justification for ASME Code Tube pressure vessels on May 8, 2026, with a capability-submission deadline of 3 p.m. CST that same date. The agency intends to award to FIBA Technologies, Inc., unless competing responses demonstrate sufficient capability to warrant full and open competition.
The requirement spans three 4-pack configurations totaling 12 individual vessels, each with approximately 60 cubic feet maximum volume (combined 233 cubic feet per 4-pack set), to be delivered to MSFC for onsite unloading. The vessels must match specifications of units FIBA Technologies supplied and installed in 2017, with which the existing foundation infrastructure aligns. NASA is procuring under FAR Part 12 as commercial items pursuant to FAR 13.5(a)(1)(ii).
Interested organizations must submit capabilities and qualifications electronically to Contracting Officer Stephanie Darnell at stephanie.darnell@nasa.gov by the May 8 deadline. Submissions will be evaluated solely to determine whether competitive acquisition is warranted; the Government retains sole discretion over the competition decision. NASA Clause 1852.215-84 (Ombudsman) applies; the Center Ombudsman contact is available at the NASA procurement ombudsman listing.
