About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Aviation, through Solicitation SPRRA1-23-R-0008, was seeking to add items to a Boeing Captain of Industry (COI) Requirements type contract (SPRPA1-22-D-001U) related to aircraft landing gear components. However, this amendment (Amendment 0001) effectively cancels the entire solicitation, as Boeing has indicated an inability to meet the solicitation requirements. The amendment was issued in accordance with DLAD 52.216-9006 "Addition/Deletion of Items" and requires an acknowledgement from Boeing within five business days of receipt. The solicitation specifically pertained to steering units, cylinders, and landing gear components, which would have been procured for aviation purposes. Contractors were instructed to email their acknowledgement to specific DLA contacts: Richard Allen and Phanicia Montgomery.
The solicitation was not designated with any specific set-aside status and was categorized under NAICS code 336413 for Other Aircraft Parts and Auxiliary Equipment Manufacturing. The place of performance was identified as Ridley Park, Pennsylvania. The contract opportunity was classified under Product Service Code (PSC) 1620 for Aircraft Landing Gear Components. While specific award values or quantities were not detailed in this amendment, the document indicates this was part of an ongoing contract modification process with Boeing. The amendment will be publicly published on the SAM.Gov website, ensuring transparency in the federal procurement process. The action demonstrates the complex nature of federal contract management, where solicitations can be modified or rescinded based on contractors' capabilities and requirements.
