About this opportunity
The 355th Contracting Squadron of the Department of the Air Force Air Combat Command is seeking services for the removal and installation of a Yanmar forklift engine in a Hyster 6K lb forklift (#11E157). The contractor must provide all necessary materials, tools, labor, and supervision to remove the non-functional engine and install a customer-provided Yanmar engine in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) guidelines and specifications. All work must be performed by certified technicians using genuine OEM parts and ancillary materials. This is a sole-source procurement action, though the government is soliciting a sources-sought notice to identify any additional authorized Yanmar engine service installers that may challenge this designation. Interested firms must submit a capabilities statement demonstrating technical expertise, certifications, and authorization as an authorized service provider by Monday, April 6, 2026, at 7:00 AM PST to Contracting Officer Patricia Murray at patricia.murray.6@us.af.mil or (520)228-3095, referencing RFI number FA4877-26-Q-A101. The government reserves the right to determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement based on responses received, and will not reimburse any costs associated with submitting capability information.
No set-aside designation has been applied to this procurement. The pre-solicitation notice does not identify any incumbent contractors or specify an award value or budget range for the contract. The scope of work involves the service of a single piece of equipment—one Hyster forklift—though the notice indicates the potential for "engine(s)" to be addressed, suggesting the possibility of multiple installations. No timeline for service completion is specified in the notice, though responses to the sources-sought inquiry must be received by the April 6, 2026 deadline. This procurement falls under NAICS code 811310 (Commercial and Industrial Machinery and Equipment Repair and Maintenance) and PSC code J028 (Maintenance, Repair, and Rebuild of Equipment—Engines, Turbines, and Components).
