The notice announces the agency's intent to award a sole-source, firm fixed price contract to Alfab Inc (CAGE 1B899) for specialized AM2 matting components. This procurement falls under NAICS code 332999 (All Other Miscellaneous Fabricated Metal Product Manufacturing) with a size standard of 750 employees. The contract will be executed through ERDC's Airfields and Pavements Branch located in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Alfab Inc has been identified as the exclusive manufacturer and assembler of AM2 matting products required for this specialized military application.
The primary objective of this procurement is to demonstrate AM2 matting capabilities for vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) operations and develop an optimized logistics kit for Army use. The contract will provide materials needed to construct a 54-foot wide by 50-foot long VTOL pad, including 2 12-foot AM2 sheets, 5 6-foot AM2 sheets, and one complete stake package. While this is intended as a sole-source award, the government has provided until August 27, 2025, for interested contractors to submit capability statements, proposals, or quotations for consideration. Contractors must demonstrate their ability to fulfill the requirement and provide detailed past experience with similar projects along with references. The government retains sole discretion to determine whether to proceed with competitive procurement based on responses received, and emphasizes that oral communications will not be accepted in response to this notice.
