About this opportunity

The U.S. Geological Survey seeks an aluminum boat, motor, and trailer for delivery to Tampa, Florida within 90 days of award, with quotations due September 17 and an anticipated award date of September 18. This is a Total Small Business set-aside with NAICS code 336612 (Boat Building) and a 1,000-employee size standard. As amended, the procurement includes a Questions and Answers attachment clarifying that the 0.25-inch minimum hull thickness applies to the bottom only, and that a V-hull design is required rather than alternative shallow-water configurations.

Place of performance is Tampa, Florida (USGS Florida Water Science Center, 10500 University Center Drive, Tampa, FL 33612). The vessel must accommodate a three-person crew and SCUBA divers, navigate shallow rocky channels and open-Gulf conditions, and support coastal and offshore data collection. Required specifications include a square-bow V-hull capable of operating on plane in approximately 18 inches of water, heavy marine-grade aluminum hull, rear platform with steel ladder and integrated safety rails for SCUBA entry and exit, 250-horsepower four-stroke outboard engine with stainless steel propeller and hydraulic steering, center console with bench seating, forward seat, metal T-top with wrap-around windshield, 80-gallon fuel tank, trim tabs, navigation/chart-plotter with depth finder, marine-grade VHF radio, and twin-axle aluminum trailer with corrosion-resistant components. Contractors located 120 miles or more from the facility are responsible for transportation; otherwise, the government assumes delivery responsibility.

The solicitation requires SF 1449 completion and incorporates standard FAR clauses including Buy American compliance and small business subcontracting provisions. Contracting Officer Leah Williams administers the procurement through USGS OAG National Acquisition Branch.
