About this opportunity
The Department of the Army Medical Command's Medical Readiness Contracting Office - West (MRCO-W) is conducting market research through a sources-sought notice to determine the availability of vendors capable of providing FDA approved allograft human tissue products. This pre-solicitation notice is intended to assess whether the procurement can be successfully competed and determine if it should be set aside for small businesses. Interested businesses must submit capabilities statements by July 18, 2025, addressing their ability to provide allograft human tissue products, their CAGE code and business classification status, and point of contact information. Questions regarding this opportunity must be submitted no later than July 16, 2025, at 10:00 AM CST. The government will use responses to determine the best acquisition strategy for the eventual solicitation, though responses to this sources-sought notice will not be considered adequate responses to any future solicitation.
This opportunity does not utilize any set-aside designation and is open to all large and small businesses, including 8(a), Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, HubZone, and Women-Owned small business concerns. Notably, the notice contains an apparent inconsistency, as it mentions the government intends to solicit and award a contract for "Alcon Ophthalmology Implants and Supplies" while the primary focus is on allograft human tissue products. No current contractors or incumbents are identified in the notice. The procurement falls under NAICS code 339113 (Surgical Appliance and Supplies Manufacturing) and PSC 6515 (Medical And Surgical Instruments, Equipment, And Supplies). No award values, budget ranges, specific quantities, or service timelines are provided in this market research phase. The government has indicated it will not debrief survey results and will maintain confidentiality of all submitted information.
