About this opportunity
The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), specifically the Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY), intends to award a Firm-Fixed-Price contract for alarm monitoring support services. The contract will require personnel to monitor alarms, Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), and radio communications for special security missions and Open Storage Secret spaces. Potential contractors must be prepared to provide six personnel (five monitoring staff and one supervisor) who possess Secret security clearances, U.S. citizenship, and the ability to operate computerized alarm systems and access control technologies. The solicitation will be released under FAR Part 12 commercial item procedures, with an anticipated solicitation date in early February 2025. Interested vendors are currently invited to submit capabilities statements and relevant questions, with responses due by January 17, 2025.
The contract will have a base period with four option years, with all work to be performed at Norfolk Naval Shipyard Building 1618 in Portsmouth, Virginia. No specific set-aside designations are currently attached to the opportunity, which suggests it will be open to a broad range of contractors. While the exact award value is not specified in the pre-solicitation notice, the requirement for six personnel suggests a potentially significant contract scope. The government will provide necessary computer equipment, electronic security system training, and computer access to support contract performance. The 24/7 monitoring requirement indicates a continuous service model that will demand robust staffing and operational capabilities from the selected contractor.
