About this opportunity

The National Institutes of Health Office of Logistics and Acquisition Operations seeks a fixed-price purchase order for an Alamar ARGO HT System, a fully automated, high-throughput proteomics platform, with proposals due September 17, 2026. The procurement is set aside for small business (NAICS 334516, 1,000-employee size standard) and conducted under FAR 12.603 as a streamlined commercial acquisition not expected to exceed the simplified acquisition threshold.

Place of performance and delivery is the National Institutes of Health, 6001 Executive Boulevard, Rockville, Maryland 20892, with delivery required within 90 days from award. The instrument must process up to 288 samples per run, integrate qPCR and NGS library generation capability, require total hands-on time less than 30 minutes with setup under five minutes, deliver singleplex assay results in less than six hours and multiplex NGS results in less than 15 hours, and support cartridge-based reagents for three consecutive runs. The platform must provide liquid handling automation for sample preparation, integrated onboard computing with cloud-based ARGO Command Center and NULISA Analysis Software, compatibility with ultra-high sensitivity NULISA assay technology at attomolar-level detection, scalable multiplexing from singleplex to high-plex (100s–1000s targets), and broad sample compatibility including plasma, serum, cerebrospinal fluid, urine, and cell culture media. The instrument must operate at 15–24°C with 40–80% non-condensing humidity, accept 100–240 V power at 50–60 Hz with maximum 1500 watts consumption, and have a footprint no larger than 1143 mm (W) × 661 mm (D) × 1016 mm (H) with weight not exceeding 250 kg. Compliance with EMC, UL, CE, WEEE, ISO 13485, and ISO 9001 standards is required, and API availability for custom development must be provided. Evaluation factors are price, technical capability, and delivery schedule. Responses must include unit and total pricing, shipping and handling, delivery timeframe, delivery terms, F.O.B. point, product/catalog numbers, product description, UEI, TIN, and business size certification; offerors must be actively registered in SAM. Questions and submissions go to Brian Lind at brian.lind@nih.gov.
