About this opportunity
The Air Force Sustainment Center is conducting market research to identify sources capable of designing and manufacturing an aircraft maintenance fixture for KC-135 spoiler actuator testing (part number F71196-501, NSN 4920-00-545-2479RH), with responses due by October 22, 2026. This is an RFI; responses are not binding offers and will inform planning and market research only.
The Government indicates this procurement may follow as a sole-source award to Boeing for a quantity of three units on a one-year contract, with delivery 15 months after award. The Acquisition Method Code (3R) signals the Government does not own manufacturing data or hold rights to the design and considers reverse engineering uneconomical, suggesting qualification to an incumbent design is a material requirement.
Respondents must complete a Contractor Capability Survey addressing business data (CAGE, NAICS 811219, certifications), facility capabilities, past project experience, quality assurance compliance (ISO 9001, AS9100), classified material handling capabilities, technical data generation, manufacturing experience with comparable components, warranty and return processes, obsolescence management, packaging and shipping procedures, and inventory reporting. Small businesses are particularly encouraged to participate and should identify teaming, subcontracting roles, or areas suitable for small business set-asides; large businesses and joint ventures are also welcome. The Government will not reimburse participation expenses. Submit responses to Cory Harris (Cory.harris.4@us.af.mil) or Latonya Jackson (Latonya.jackson.1@us.af.mil).
