About this opportunity
The U.S. Coast Guard is conducting market research through this Request for Information (RFI) to identify potential contractors capable of providing in-person, hands-on training for aircraft colors and coating application to the SAE AS7489 standard for Course I Certification. The Department of Homeland Security's Coast Guard operates a bi-level aviation maintenance structure, and this training is needed for Aviation Technicians who perform operational-level aircraft paint repairs for corrosion inspections and airframe damage repairs. Contractors must be able to deliver the specialized training and proctor certification tests upon completion of the course. The procurement falls under NAICS code 611519 (Other Technical and Trade Schools) and PSC code U099 (Education/Training- Other). Interested parties must submit detailed responses including organizational information, contact details, socioeconomic status, existing government contract vehicles, recommended contract types, and general feedback by August 6, 2025 at 12:00 PM EST via email to specified Coast Guard points of contact.
This opportunity does not include any set-aside designations and is open to all qualified contractors. The RFI does not identify any current incumbents or existing contractors for this type of training service. No specific award values, budget ranges, or contract dollar amounts are mentioned in the pre-solicitation notice. The document does not specify the number of technicians to be trained, the frequency of training sessions, or the duration of any potential contract period. The Coast Guard emphasizes that this is strictly a market research effort and not a formal solicitation, though they warn that failure to respond adequately may result in companies not being considered for future competitive opportunities related to this requirement.
