About this opportunity

The Department of the Air Force Air Combat Command is seeking a self-propelled, off-road capable compact vehicle designed as a mobile Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) for intelligence-related missions. The vehicle must meet specific technical requirements, including a maximum size of 88x108 inches, seating for 2-3 personnel, and a payload capacity over 2,000 lbs. Desired specifications include a diesel or JP8 compatible engine, 4-wheel drive automatic transmission, and a top speed of 45 mph. The initial procurement is for one unit, with the potential for an Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract for future acquisitions. The pre-solicitation notice is currently in a sources sought phase, seeking industry interest and capability to provide the specialized mobile intelligence platform, with responses due by April 22, 2025.

The contract opportunity is currently designated with no specific set-aside, and is classified under the NAICS category 441227 for Motorcycle, ATV, and All Other Motor Vehicle Dealers. While no specific incumbent contractors are mentioned, the vehicle must feature advanced capabilities including puncture-resistant tires, 2-2.5" tow hitches, external storage, ballistic-protected doors and windows, and 360-degree exterior lighting. The vehicle's exterior is required to be black or olive drab green to maintain operational discretion. Although a precise award value is not specified, the Air Force is clearly seeking a highly specialized vehicle with robust security and operational features. The long-term objective appears to be establishing a streamlined acquisition process for potential future units of this specialized mobile intelligence platform.
