**UPDATE NOTICE - March 12, 2018**
In reference to the subject pre-solicitation notice regarding the AAF SMW UH-60A Flight Training Device (FTD) draft solicitation package, the Government has several important announcements.
The Government has provided a consolidated list of responses to industry's questions/comments associated with the draft package released 22 December 2017. This list is not inclusive of every question asked, instead it represents those questions and responses that were deemed viable for public dissemination, and which contain valuable information and insight into the requirement. The Government is not resoliciting for additional questions at this time, but will allow for a brief Question and Answer period following formal release of the solicitation. The instructions for submitting questions/concerns will be contained within the solicitation.
Based upon these questions and comments, the Government has made an adjustment to the overarching North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) number for this program. The new NAICS code for this effort is 333318 - Other Commercial and Service Industry Machinery Manufacturing. This is a change from the original NAICS 336411 -- Aircraft Manufacturing, and was prompted by industry's concern that 333318 is more applicable to the requirement as it includes flight simulation machinery manufacturing and teaching machines (flight simulators) manufacturing. The Government concurs with this recommendation.
The final announcement is in reference to the addition of Options for a third FTD and associated Other Direct Costs and logistical support. The inclusion of these Options were part of the 22 December solicitation release and is not to be considered inclusive of the estimated $13M dollar value provided by the Government under the original Sources Sought Notice (W900KK-17-UH60A). The Government will not be disclosing its adjusted independent estimate for the inclusion of these Options and will rely upon industry and the competitive process to drive each Offeror's proposed best and final total proposed price via their formal proposal submission.
