About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Pacific Air Forces' 354th Contracting Squadron is seeking Architect-Engineering (A-E) services for a comprehensive bridge inspection and repair study at Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska. The contractor will provide Title I Design Phase Services to inspect 19 bridges and culverts across the base, conducting National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS)-compliant inspections, structural inventories, and condition assessments. Key requirements include developing load ratings, cost estimates for repair or replacement, schematic repair plans, and prioritization matrices based on inspection findings. The work must comply with federal standards including FHWA, AASHTO, and 23 CFR Part 650 requirements, as well as Air Force specifications. Interested firms must respond by email to the specified government contacts by August 14, 2025, just three days after the posting date.
This opportunity is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside, restricting competition to qualified small businesses. The contract has a twelve-month performance period from Notice to Proceed, with site visits planned during Alaska's snow-free months from May through September. The Statement of Work indicates the project involves inspecting between 15-25 structures, with 19 currently identified bridges and culverts requiring assessment. Sample inspection reports show existing maintenance needs ranging from $58,500 to $81,000 per bridge for two structures already evaluated, suggesting the total project value could be substantial given the scope of 19 structures requiring comprehensive analysis. The project is classified under Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) designation and falls under NAICS code 541330 for Engineering Services.
