About this opportunity
The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) is seeking to procure repair services for Weapons Replaceable Assemblies (WRAs) and configuration upgrades for APG-79 radar systems under the Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) 6279 retrofit program. The procurement specifically targets components that were identified as nonfunctioning following baseline testing during the ECP-6279 upgrade process, which was previously completed by the Original Equipment Manufacturer. NAVAIR intends to award this work on a sole-source basis to The Raytheon Company, as they are the designer, developer, manufacturer, and depot for the APG-79 radar system and hold exclusive ownership of the necessary technical drawings required for repairs. Interested businesses must submit capabilities statement packages of no more than ten pages in bullet format, demonstrating their ability to provide the required supplies and services. The submission deadline is August 28, 2025, just ten days after the posting date of August 18, 2025.
This opportunity does not include any set-aside designations and will be structured as a modification to existing Delivery Order N0001921F0804 under Raytheon's Corporate Basic Ordering Agreement N0001920G0007. The Raytheon Company serves as the incumbent contractor, having previously executed the ECP-6279 retrofit work on a sole-source basis due to their proprietary position as the original equipment manufacturer. The government anticipates utilizing a Cost-Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF) contract type for this modification. The procurement falls under NAICS code 334511 for Search, Detection, Navigation, Guidance, Aeronautical, and Nautical System and Instrument Manufacturing and PSC code 1680 for Miscellaneous Aircraft Accessories and Components. While specific award values and performance timelines are not disclosed in this sources sought notice, the work represents additional scope beyond the original radar retrofit program.
