About this opportunity

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Rocky Mount Area is seeking to procure an ADCP Floating Platform with Propulsion System under solicitation 140G0125Q0010. The procurement involves a specialized platform designed to accommodate a Sontek RS5 ADCP for discharge measurements, with specific requirements for a compact, battery-powered, remote-controlled propulsion system featuring two removable thrusters capable of speeds up to 1.5 m/s. The solicitation will be issued on November 20, 2024, with written quotes due by December 6, 2024, at 8:00 AM EST. Interested vendors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) and will be evaluated solely on price and technical acceptability. Questions regarding the solicitation must be submitted to Jean Walsh (jwalsh@usgs.gov) no later than November 21, 2024, at 8:00 AM EST.

Initially set aside as a total small business opportunity under NAICS code 334513 with a size standard of 750 employees, the solicitation was subsequently amended to remove the small business set-aside and add a HUBZone small business price evaluation preference. The platform and propulsion system will be delivered to the USGS Rocky Mount Area located at 4611 Research Park Circle, Suites D and E, in Las Cruces, NM, within 30 days of order receipt. The anticipated contract award date is December 1, 2023, with the procurement falling under the Instruments and Related Products Manufacturing for Measuring, Displaying, and Controlling Industrial Process Variables category. The system must include specific technical capabilities, such as a 2.4GHz radio with 100m range, wet-mateable connectors, GPS, IP67 rating, and rechargeable batteries, along with an adapter kit to interface the ADCP with the platform.
