About this opportunity

The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation is seeking to procure 5 electro-mechanical actuators (NSN: 1420-01-092-0849, Part Number: 10272851) in support of the M-D6 Patriot Missile Weapon System. This is a one-time buy firm fixed-price contract with a limited source requirement under Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302-1(a)(2). The procurement is specifically targeted at two potential manufacturers: Superior Motion Controls, Inc. and Whippany Actuation Systems, LLC. Interested firms must submit requests for solicitation directly to Lewis Fournet via email, providing company name, CAGE code, and telephone number. The current response deadline is May 5, 2025, with the solicitation expected to remain open for a minimum of 30 days from publication.

The contract includes a production lead time of 384 days after contract award, with an additional 180 days allocated for first article testing and review. Deliveries will be made to Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. The acquisition is unique in that it requires engineering source approval by the design control activity to maintain part quality, and involves export-controlled technical data restricted by the Arms Export Control Act. Foreign firms must process solicitation requests through their respective embassies, and all offerors must have an active United States/Canada Joint Certification Program (JCP) certification to access export-controlled data. Importantly, DLA does not intend to delay the award to allow ineligible offerors to obtain necessary approvals.
