About this opportunity
The U.S. Department of State, specifically the Embassy in Tokyo, Japan, is seeking to procure 18 computers for its Public Affairs Section through a firm fixed price purchase order. The solicitation, currently in pre-solicitation status, will be formally launched on SAM.gov when ready, with electronic submissions accepted via email. Prospective contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database prior to contract award, and are encouraged to complete registration immediately if interested in responding. The government reserves the right to award the contract based on initial quotations without further discussion. The procurement does not have a specific set-aside designation, indicating it is open to all qualified vendors in the Electronic Computer Manufacturing sector (NAICS 334111). While the exact award value is not specified, the contract involves supplying 18 computer units to the embassy's Public Affairs Section. The solicitation allows for electronic quote submissions, with a file size limitation of 15MB per email transmission, potentially requiring multiple email submissions for larger responses. The posted date of January 14, 2025, suggests the procurement is planned for the near future, though the exact timeline for award and delivery is not specified in the pre-solicitation notice. Vendors should note the requirement to submit quotes electronically and ensure they meet the technical and registration prerequisites before responding.
