About this opportunity
The Department of the Army, Army Contracting Command Aberdeen Proving Ground intends to sole-source procure Dytran Instruments, Inc. accelerometers and associated hardware, with quotations due by 29 July 2026. This is a sole-source acquisition under FAR 12.102(a), valued at or below the simplified acquisition threshold.
The procurement supports Army test and evaluation operations at Aberdeen Test Center. Dytran has been determined the only reasonably available source due to direct compatibility and interchangeability requirements with existing customized vibration data acquisition systems; competition is restricted because substantial duplication of cost for system reconfiguration, custom cabling, and re-validation would delay critical testing.
The scope includes three tri-axial accelerometer models: Model 7533A7-05 (40g amplitude range, 20 mV/g sensitivity, 0–1500 Hz frequency range, operating temperature −40 to 257°F, 6 grams) in quantity 10; Model 7603D5 (50g amplitude range, 10 mV/g sensitivity, 0–2000 Hz frequency range, operating temperature −67 to 257°F, 38 grams) in quantity 10; and Model 7603D7 (200g amplitude range, 2.50 mV/g sensitivity, 0–3000 Hz frequency range, operating temperature −67 to 257°F, 38 grams) in quantity 20. All units feature hermetically sealed construction with variable capacitance technology, zero low-end frequency response, and a 5000g shock limit. Cable assemblies (9-pin jack to pigtail in 30-foot, 50-foot, and 100-foot lengths) and 30 aluminum anodized mounting bases are also included. Calibration certificates (physical and electronic) are required for each sensor.
Responses should be directed to Contract Specialist Morgan Alvey (morgan.e.alvey.civ@army.mil) and Contracting Officer Dennis Beauclair, Jr. (dennis.a.beauclair3.civ@army.mil).
