About this opportunity

The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Lifecycle Management Center at Robins Air Force Base is conducting market research to identify potential contractors capable of providing troubleshooting and repair services for the AC-130J NextGen Special Mission Processor (NextGen SMP). The requirement involves providing continuous, uninterrupted support services for the open architecture NextGen SMP system, including furnishing support equipment, tools, test equipment, and all necessary services. Contractors must maintain and calibrate all support equipment at their own facilities or subcontractor facilities, and any replacement parts must equal or exceed Original Equipment Manufacturer quality standards. The evaluation will focus on contractor capability, expertise, and experience in meeting the specified qualification requirements for this specialized aircraft maintenance work. Interested contractors must submit documentation supporting their company's capability by the August 25, 2025 deadline, though participation in this market research does not guarantee inclusion in future solicitations or contract awards.

This opportunity is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside under NAICS code 336413 (Other Aircraft Parts and Auxiliary Equipment Manufacturing) and PSC code 4920 (Aircraft Maintenance And Repair Shop Specialized Equipment). The notice does not identify any current incumbents or potential contractors already providing these services. No specific award values, budget ranges, or contract quantities are disclosed in this pre-solicitation phase, as this is purely a market research effort to assess industry capabilities. The government has made clear that it will not reimburse participants for any expenses associated with their participation in the contractor capability survey. The timeline indicates contractors have approximately 24 days from the August 1, 2025 posting date to respond with their capability documentation and survey responses.
