About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Headquarters is hosting an Industry Day event titled "Partnering for Progress in Air Force Requirements," scheduled for January 29, 2026, at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. This Special Notice, posted on January 13, 2026, is being conducted on behalf of Lt Gen David Harris, Deputy Chief of Staff for Strategy, Design, and Requirements (HAF/A5/7). The event aims to solicit comprehensive industry feedback on improving the U.S. Air Force's requirements processes to enable faster and more efficient capability delivery to warfighters. Both in-person and virtual attendance options will be available to interested industry participants. The notice invites companies to engage with Air Force leadership and contribute strategic insights to enhance the Air Force's overall capability delivery processes.
Companies interested in participating must register by January 14, 2026, through the provided Microsoft Teams event link, with a maximum of three in-person attendees permitted per company, though additional space may become available. Participants without CAC or Military ID credentials must complete base access procedures by the same deadline to attend in-person at Fort Belvoir. The Air Force requests that industry partners submit written responses to key questions by January 22, 2026, addressing topics including requirements process challenges, communication improvements, R&D incentives, technological capabilities, testing and evaluation approaches, capability development strategies, and AI/automation tools for accelerating development lifecycles. There are no specific eligibility restrictions mentioned, and this is not a formal contracting opportunity with a set-aside; rather, it is an informational gathering initiative designed to strengthen collaboration between the Air Force and the defense industry. Responses and inquiries should be directed to af.req.transformation@us.af.mil.
