About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Headquarters District Washington is soliciting a Request for Information on Affordable Mass Munitions (AMM)—guided missiles, missile warheads, and complete missile systems—with responses due June 20, 2026. This RFI is designated a Total Small Business set-aside and is expected to inform DoD requirements and industry engagement strategy for the AFA Air, Space, & Cyber Conference in Fall 2026.
The government seeks industry insights on production at scale (1,000 or more units annually), allied production using open architectures (WOSA and GRA), and contested logistics sustainment in domestic and overseas environments. The program targets low-cost (~$300,000 unit cost), mass-producible long-range precision strike systems for Great Power Competition. Respondents address current and surge production rates, unit costs across production volumes (1K, 5K, 10K units/year), technical performance including range (250 NM), speed (Mach 0.6), payload capacity, accuracy (CEP 10 meters), and GPS-denied navigation and autonomy capabilities. Manufacturing approach, distributed production feasibility, WOSA/Government Reference Architecture compliance, and integration with Quicksink (maritime strike) and FALCO (counter-UAS) systems are also key evaluation areas. International vendors and those seeking co-production with allies must address ITAR requirements, allied nation system users, technology transfer approaches, and component sourcing strategies. Specialized questionnaires target propulsion vendors, digital manufacturing vendors, autonomy vendors, loitering munition vendors, international vendors, and ERAM/FAMM-related vendors, with category-specific questions addressing qualifications on existing programs, facility requirements, TRL achievements, and allied releasability design.
