About this opportunity
The Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM) has issued a special notice regarding draft specification A-A-60027A for nursing undershirts intended for postpartum nursing female military personnel. This is not a solicitation but rather an invitation for industry review and comment on the proposed specification. The notice covers a nursing undershirt available in eight color classes including OD Green, Tan, Blue, White, Black, Gray, and Coyote, with six sizes ranging from X-Small to XX-Large. The undershirt must be made from a synthetic and cotton blend material not exceeding 50 percent synthetic, with specific technical requirements for weight, bursting strength, dimensional stability, and colorfastness. The specification falls under Product Service Code 8425 and NAICS Code 315210 for Cut and Sew Apparel Contractors.
The primary purpose of this special notice is to gather industry feedback on the draft specification to ensure manufacturability and promote broad vendor participation in future solicitations. Interested parties must submit comments using the attached Consolidated Comments Form (CCF) to USMC_STDZ@usmc.mil with the document number in the subject line by July 30, 2025. Comments not submitted on the CCF may not be considered, and the agency emphasizes that all feedback is considered suggested with no obligation for acceptance. Industry participants are specifically instructed to avoid providing organization-specific comments or suggestions for alternative materials or components, as the current design has been tested and approved by the user community. The final specification will be published on ASSIST Online after the review period concludes, with the goal of accommodating diverse design solutions and encouraging competitive vendor participation.

The posting on sam.gov is not a solicitation, it is an invitation for industry partners to provide input to the specification that is being proposed for these items. We realize that industry is our best resource on aspects of manufacturability of the item using the specification. We would appreciate any feedback that you may have that will increase the usefulness of the specification, in light of the limitations below.
