About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), specifically the VHA Regional Procurement Office Central, Great Lakes Acquisition Center, Network Contracting Office 12, has issued a Special Notice announcing its intent to award a sole source, firm-fixed-price purchase order to Materialise USA, LLC. The procurement is for a Materialise Interactive Medical Image Control System (MIMICS) Hospital Floating License for the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The software will enable medical professionals to manipulate medical imaging data and fabricate 3D-printed medical parts using DICOM data from patient scans. This notice is classified under NAICS Code 513210 for Software Publishers and is not a request for competitive proposals. The planned contract includes a base 12-month floating license with four additional 12-month option periods, covering the performance period from September 30, 2025, through September 29, 2030.
Interested contractors have until May 12, 2025, at 12:00 pm Eastern Standard Time to submit written notice to Stacy.Massey@va.gov demonstrating their ability to meet the contract requirements. The VA is seeking supporting evidence in sufficient detail to evaluate potential competition for the procurement. While responses will be considered, the government retains sole discretion in determining whether to compete the proposed acquisition. Any response must provide clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the government in future procurements. The floating license upgrade will allow multiple concurrent end-users to access the software across one or several computers, replacing the current single computer license. Contractors should note that this is a special notice and no solicitation documents are available at this time. All inquiries must be submitted via email, and telephone requests will not be accepted.
