About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Air Force Sustainment Center is conducting a Sources Sought market research effort for Building 321 at Robins Air Force Base, seeking contractors capable of modifying existing office furniture and performing carpet renovation. The project involves reconfiguring approximately 88 workstations and 7 private offices, including repurposing 66 existing Herman Miller workstation panels and installing power-operated workstation tables. Contractors must demonstrate expertise in office furniture modification, installation, and carpet replacement, with a comprehensive evaluation based on a detailed Contractor Capability Survey covering general capabilities, repair capabilities, commerciality, and manufacturing qualifications. Responses are due by close of business on May 20, 2025, and must be submitted via email to Procuring Contracting Officer MSgt Anthony Jacobs or Project Manager Lisa Matney. The government has not yet finalized a small business set-aside designation and encourages participation from both large and small businesses, including joint ventures and teaming arrangements.
The pre-solicitation notice indicates the project will involve demolishing and replacing approximately 35,000 square feet of carpet with Shaw Contract 24x24 Base Standard carpet tiles, along with furnishing new conference room furniture. While specific award values are not disclosed, the comprehensive scope suggests a significant office renovation project within the Office Furniture Manufacturing sector (NAICS 337214). The government explicitly notes that participation in this market research survey does not guarantee future solicitation or contract awards, and will not reimburse participants for survey-related expenses. Potential contractors are expected to demonstrate specific capabilities in office furniture modification, power infrastructure integration, and commercial carpeting installation. The project timeline and final solicitation details are still being developed, with this sources sought notice serving as an initial market research phase to identify potential qualified contractors for the Building 321 renovation effort.
