About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Integrated Service Network 16, has cancelled solicitation 36C25626Q1207 in its entirety as of August 25, 2026. The procurement sought a commercial letter folding and inserting machine for the Alexandria VA Medical Center in Pineville, Louisiana, under a 100% Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business set-aside.
The original requirement called for equipment capable of processing more than 1,000 letters per day, supporting multiple fold configurations (C-fold, Z-fold, half-fold, double-fold), and automatically inserting folded documents into standard envelopes. The machine was to include a high-capacity document feeder with a minimum 200-sheet input tray capacity, at least two insert stations, operation on standard 120V AC power, and a touchscreen interface with programmable job profiles. Delivery and installation were to be completed within 30 to 60 calendar days from award.
The NAICS code is 333310 (Commercial and Service Industry Machinery Manufacturing) with a 1,000 employee size standard. The Government anticipated awarding one firm-fixed-price purchase order. Evaluation was to use a Lowest Price Technically Acceptable approach. Contractor responsibilities included installation, configuration, operational training for up to six users within three business days of installation, preventive maintenance and repair services, and a minimum two-year warranty with technical support.
The cancellation was issued because industry was unable to provide a letter folding machine from an SDVOSB manufacturer under the set-aside requirement. The Government intends to resolicited this requirement in the near future, potentially through an alternative approach.
