About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Air Combat Command is seeking a contractor to provide and install building name letters for three Advanced Individual Training (AIT) barracks buildings at Fort Eustis, Virginia. The project involves installing individual letters spelling "JACKSON BARRACKS," "PLASTER BARRACKS," and "SIMMONS BARRACKS" on Buildings 2301, 2303, and 2304 respectively, with each building requiring 15 letters fabricated from 0.25" plate aluminum, 16" in height, painted satin black, and mounted with 3/16" stud mounts and 1/2" stand-offs. The contractor must provide all labor, equipment, and materials while ensuring letters are level, straight, and securely installed to withstand environmental conditions. Key requirements include maintaining a clean work environment, providing certified technicians with proper documentation, and offering a one-year warranty on installation with 72-hour response time for warranty requests. The solicitation was posted on July 30, 2025, with responses due by August 8, 2025, giving potential contractors a tight nine-day window to submit proposals.
This procurement does not utilize any set-aside designations and will be open to full and open competition. No incumbent contractors or current service providers are identified in the solicitation documentation. While specific contract values or budget ranges are not disclosed, the project scope is relatively defined with 45 total letters to be installed across three buildings, each letter requiring three to four mounting studs for installation at approximately 50 feet height on brick surfaces. Work must be performed during coordinated hours with an on-site representative, typically Monday through Friday from 0730 to 1700 hours excluding federal holidays, though weekend and after-hours access may be arranged for service calls. The place of performance is specifically Fort Eustis in Newport News, Virginia, where the contractor will be responsible for disposing of all waste materials off-base unless otherwise approved by the government.
