About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs is issuing a Sources Sought Notice to identify contractors for wall-mounted window shade supply and installation at the Boise VA Medical Center, with responses due by 9 AM CST on August 10, 2026. No set-aside is anticipated. Place of performance is Building 127, the new Primary Care/Mental Health facility at 500 W. Fort St., Boise, Idaho; all delivery and installation must be completed no later than October 16, 2026.
The requirement calls for sixty-three new manual roller vertical window shades—thirty-two upper units and thirty-one lower units—in varying widths from 37 to 139 inches. Upper shades require cordless operation via removable extension wand (minimum 60 inches) for ground-level control; lower shades must feature clutch operation via cord-loop or chain-loop with tensioned hold-down devices. All units must be ivory or similar off-white basketweave fabric with 5% openness and color-matched metal components. The contractor bears responsibility for on-site measurement, installation during standard business hours (7:30 AM–3:30 PM Monday–Friday, excluding federal holidays), cleanup, and coordination with the Contracting Officer's Representative at least five working days before final installation. All shades must include manufacturer's warranty covering hardware, spring assist mechanism, and fabrics, with finish surfaces free of scratches, dents, stains, rips, tears, or blemishes.
Respondents should address nine capability questions including business size classification under NAICS 337920 (small business threshold 1,000 employees), manufacturer or distributor status, federal contract vehicles (FSS GSA, NASA SEWP, NAC schedules), salient characteristics compliance documentation, and domestic origin. Submit responses via email to angela.kyte@va.gov. Procurement number is 36C24W26Q0222.
