About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Veteran Benefits Administration is seeking to procure office furniture for its Montgomery Alabama Regional Benefits Office, specifically 120 electric sit-stand desks (48"x24"), 120 48" acrylic privacy panels, 240 24" acrylic privacy panels, and 80 employee task chairs with integrated lumbar and neck support. The furniture must be ergonomically designed and equivalent in quality to established manufacturers like Haworth, Steelcase, and VARI systems, with the awarded vendor required to provide three color palette options. The procurement emphasizes comprehensive technical specifications, including sustainability requirements such as 37% recycled content, Greenguard certification, and compliance with various industry standards like BIFMA and ISO certifications. Evaluation criteria will likely focus on meeting these detailed technical specifications, warranty provisions, and manufacturing quality. The response deadline is set for March 19, 2025, with a requirement for delivery within 60 days after contract award.
The procurement is exclusively set aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSBC), limiting competition to qualified vendors within this designation. Delivery and installation will occur at 345 Perryhill Road in Montgomery, Alabama, with work to be performed during normal business hours (8:00am - 5:00pm EST). The contractor must provide all necessary components, hardware, and parts for proper assembly and installation, including electrical components, connectors, and accessories. While no specific award value is mentioned, the comprehensive nature of the furniture procurement suggests a potentially significant contract value. The furniture must carry a limited lifetime warranty that covers 24/7 multi-shift use, including parts and labor, and must be manufactured in an ISO 9001 certified plant with a proven track record of at least 10 years in producing office furniture systems.
