About this opportunity
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is conducting a market survey for Airborne Video Downlink (AVDL) ground receive station equipment, specifically seeking TROLL antennas and related components to be issued as Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) in support of United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP). The survey aims to gather information from potential vendors about their capabilities to provide specific items including AX3000 Series Tracking Antenna System, DMR8000-BE-A-Receivers, and X750-NSIDIRCNTL remote site/local controllers. Interested firms are required to submit a comprehensive capability statement detailing previous relevant contracts, quantities, dollar amounts, and past performance, along with the number of years in business. All submissions must be electronically sent to tamara.m.maxwell@faa.gov by 4:00 p.m. Central Time on April 01, 2025, with the specific contract number in the email subject line. The FAA will use these responses to determine potential competition and whether the procurement can be set aside for small businesses, service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses, or 8(a) certified firms.
The market survey does not currently specify a definitive set-aside status, indicating the procurement could be conducted as a full and open competition or potentially reserved for specific small business categories. Vendors are encouraged to include their SBA 8(a) certification letter if applicable, and must clearly state their ability to meet all listed requirements. While no specific award value or budget range is disclosed, the survey suggests the procurement involves sophisticated navigation and detection equipment within the Search, Detection, Navigation, Guidance, Aeronautical, and Nautical System and Instrument Manufacturing NAICS category (334511). The FAA emphasizes that this market survey is purely for informational purposes, and respondents will not be compensated for their submissions or preparation efforts. Proprietary documents should be appropriately marked, and the agency will not release the submitted information externally.
