About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration, Network Contracting Office 8, is conducting market research to identify qualified vendors capable of providing comprehensive genomic profiling tests for thyroid cancer. The VA seeks vendors who can deliver testing services that detect gene mutations, fusions, and expression profiles relevant to thyroid malignancies, distinguish between benign and malignant thyroid nodules, and support clinical decision-making for patients at the Orlando VA Healthcare System and Caribbean VA Healthcare System. Key qualifications include CLIA certification and CAP accreditation of the laboratory, a 14-calendar-day turnaround time from sample receipt, electronic reporting of results with clinical interpretation, specimen collection kit provision and shipping logistics support, and HIPAA-compliant data handling. While this is a sources sought notice for market research purposes rather than a formal solicitation, interested vendors must submit written responses by December 2, 2025, at 4:00 PM EST to Yolanda Glover at yolanda.glover@va.gov, including company information, business size certification, socioeconomic status, laboratory certifications, testing experience, and estimated turnaround times.
This procurement opportunity is set aside exclusively for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSBC). The VA intends to award a requirement contract with a base period plus four option years, though no incumbent contractor is identified in this pre-solicitation notice. The applicable NAICS code is 621511 (Medical Laboratories) with a small business size standard of $41.5 million in annual revenue. No specific award value or budget range is disclosed in the sources sought notice, as this is preliminary market research to assess vendor capability and availability. The procurement is categorized under PSC code 6640 (Laboratory Equipment and Supplies), and the government anticipates that formal solicitation documents will follow once market research is completed.
