About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Integrated Services Network (VISN) 02, James J. Peters VA Medical Center has published a Special Notice announcing their intent to award a sole source bridge contract to Roche Diagnostics Corporation. This notice pertains to essential molecular diagnostic testing equipment and services required to maintain continuity of patient care operations. The bridge contract is necessary because the current contract number 36C24225D0003 with Roche Diagnostics Corporation will conclude on September 30, 2025. The anticipated bridge award will span one year, from October 1, 2025, through September 30, 2026, and will be made under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 8.405-6 for limiting sources. This sole source approach is being taken to prevent any disruption in critical diagnostic testing services while the agency prepares for a competitive solicitation.
The primary purpose of this bridge contract is to provide the Department of Veterans Affairs additional time to conduct a competitive solicitation for the FSC Group 65/66 requirement in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations, with the competitive acquisition anticipated to be awarded in April 2026. While this is not a request for quotes, the government is accepting capability statements from all responsible sources who believe they can meet the requirement. Interested contractors must submit their capability statements to Contracting Officer Lindsay Goldsmith at lindsay.goldsmith@va.gov no later than 10:00 AM Eastern Standard Time on August 27, 2025. The government retains sole discretion in determining whether to compete this proposed contract based on the capability statements received. The requirement falls under NAICS code 334516 for Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing and involves medical laboratory analysis instruments essential for veteran healthcare services.
