About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Integrated Service Network 2, issued a Special Notice on March 25, 2026, regarding a sole source modification to Federal Supply Schedule delivery order 36C24226N0087 with Beckman Coulter, Inc. This notice announces the VA's intent to award increased funding and expanded scope to the existing contract for Chemistry and Immunoassay Cost-Per-Reportable-Result (CPRR) services. The modification is being conducted under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 8.401(b) and General Services Administration Regulation (GSAR) 538.7104-3(b)(ii), which permits sole source awards when only one responsible source can satisfy agency requirements. The contracting office is located in Bronx, New York, with Brad Mills serving as the Supervisory Contract Specialist. This is not a competitive solicitation, meaning the government has determined that only Beckman Coulter can provide the specialized services required at the necessary quality level.
The modification extends the period of performance for six VA Medical Center locations from a six-month term ending March 31, 2026, to a twelve-month term ending September 30, 2026, while the East Orange VA Medical Center remains under its original one-year agreement through September 30, 2026. The affected facilities include James J. Peters VA Medical Center in Bronx, New York; Castle Point VA Medical Center in Wappingers Falls, New York; Franklin Delano Roosevelt Hospital in Montrose, New York; Margaret Cochran Corbin VA Campus in New York, New York; Brooklyn VA Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York; and Northport VA Medical Center in Northport, New York. Interested parties may submit capability statements by March 31, 2026, at 12:00 PM Eastern Time to demonstrate why competition would benefit the government. The notice is classified under Product Service Code 6632 (Analysis Instruments, Medical Laboratory Use) and NAICS Code 334516 (Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing), indicating this contract involves specialized medical laboratory analytical equipment and services.
