About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 19 (VISN 19) is conducting market research to identify suppliers of molecular diagnostic test kits and consumables compatible with Cepheid instrumentation across eight VA medical facilities in Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, and Oklahoma. The procurement seeks to support pathology and laboratory services with 18 specific molecular diagnostic testing capabilities, including tests for MRSA, COVID-19, influenza, tuberculosis, and various bacterial and viral screenings. Potential suppliers must provide a detailed capability statement that includes business contact information, business size status, and specific details about their product offerings and pricing structures. The market research is categorized under NAICS code 325413 with a small business size standard of 1,250 employees, and responses are due by 9 AM Mountain Time on March 13, 2025. Interested vendors must submit their information directly to Tania Urenda via email at Tania.Urenda@va.gov and NCO19lab@va.gov.

The pre-solicitation notice indicates no specific set-aside designations and welcomes responses from businesses of all sizes, including small businesses, emerging small businesses, disadvantaged businesses, veteran-owned businesses, and large enterprises. While no specific award value or budget range is mentioned, the procurement covers molecular diagnostic test kits for multiple VA medical centers, suggesting a potentially significant contract opportunity. The government is seeking suppliers who can provide firm-fixed pricing and are compliant with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) requirements, including Buy American Act provisions. Small business respondents must provide additional details about subcontracting limitations, manufacturing capabilities, and value-added services. The procurement will be evaluated based on companies' ability to provide compatible reagents and consumables for Cepheid GeneXpert models including Infinity-48S, XVI, IV, and Xpress, with a focus on comprehensive testing capabilities across multiple diagnostic categories.
