About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 7 has issued a Special Notice of Intent to Sole Source for an ImageGrid Archive System procurement. The notice announces the VA's intent to award a sole source, firm fixed price contract to Candelis Inc. of Newport Beach, California, for approximately $64.5TB of archiving hardware and software to replace the existing nuclear medicine data storage system at the Atlanta VA Medical Center. This is not a competitive solicitation but rather a formal notification under Federal Acquisition Regulation requirements that allows interested parties to demonstrate their capabilities before the planned sole source award. The contract falls under NAICS code 334510 (Electromedical and Electrotherapeutic Apparatus Manufacturing) with a size standard of 1,250 employees and is classified under Product Service Code 6525 for medical imaging equipment and supplies.
The primary objective of this procurement is to replace and expand the existing Candelis ImageGrid system that stores nuclear medicine data, studies, and images accumulated over the past 15 years at the Atlanta VA Medical Center. Interested contractors must submit clear and convincing documentation demonstrating their capability to provide equivalent products and services by June 26, 2025, at 1:00 PM Eastern Time, with responses emailed to lasonja.harvey@va.gov including the solicitation number in the subject line. The contract requires migration of 16TB of historical data, on-site installation, training for nuclear medicine personnel, and completion of all deliverables within 30 days after contract award. The anticipated award date is June 30, 2025, and the system must support multiple nuclear medicine imaging modalities while integrating with existing VA imaging infrastructure. Eligibility is open to responsible sources capable of providing the specialized nuclear medicine archiving system, though the government's justification indicates that market research found no alternative vendors with comparable products.
