About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Integrated Service Network 6 (VA Network Contracting Office 6) is conducting market research to identify qualified sources for stainless steel surgical instruments and related equipment for the Fredericksburg VA Health Care Center. The procurement encompasses seven line items: stainless steel surgical instruments compiled into service specialty trays for various surgical disciplines, surgical instrument containers with lids in multiple sizes, wire/perforated baskets for instrument organization, silicone mats and cushioning pads, snap-on identification tags, etched identification labels, and instrument stringers with locks for sterilization. All items must be medical-grade stainless steel or compatible materials, autoclavable, and compliant with FDA, OSHA, and ISO 9000 standards while maintaining compatibility with the facility's Censitrac instrument tracking system. Interested parties must submit capability statements by May 11, 2026, at 6:00 AM EST addressing their company information, NAICS code, SAM.gov UEI number, business size classification, place of manufacture, and demonstrated ability to meet the stated requirements; non-manufacturers must provide authorized distributor letters. This is a sources sought notice only and does not constitute a commitment by the Government to award a contract, nor does it restrict the Government to any particular acquisition approach.
This pre-solicitation notice includes no set-aside designations and does not identify any incumbent contractors or current service providers. The notice does not disclose a specific budget range or award value for the procurement. The solicitation number is 36C24626Q0567, and responses should be submitted via email to Tiara White at Tiara.White@va.gov with the subject line "Sources Sought 36C24626Q0567." While the notice does not specify quantities for each line item beyond detailing the basis-of-design specifications for the surgical instrument trays, the comprehensive nature of the requirements—including instruments for multiple surgical specialties such as ENT, general surgery, gynecology, orthopedics, vascular, and podiatry—indicates a substantial procurement. The Government will not pay for information requested nor compensate respondents for costs incurred in developing the submitted information.
