About this opportunity

The Seattle Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC), under the Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 20, is seeking to procure microbiology media and laboratory supplies for clinical microbiology testing. The procurement encompasses various products including agar plates, culture media, ATCC organisms, diagnostic testing kits, and specialized reagents such as BactiDrop Oxidase and Indole, which are critical for identifying pathogenic organisms in veteran patient samples. The vendor must demonstrate the capability to deliver monthly-ordered and weekly-delivered products on schedule, provide Safety Data Sheets upon request, supply shipment tracking information due to the perishable nature of goods, and maintain inventory of all products specified in Appendix B of the solicitation. The evaluation criteria include vendor capability to meet the Statement of Work requirements, compliance with pricing schedules that include shipping costs, and ability to provide timely acknowledgment of product requests with reliable delivery tracking. The deadline for interested vendors to submit a capabilities statement is November 21, 2025, at 5:00 PM PST to Hector Gonzalez at the contracting office.

This procurement includes no set-aside designations and currently identifies no incumbent contractors in the available documentation. The contract will be structured as a Purchase Order with a base performance period from February 1, 2026, through January 31, 2027, followed by four optional one-year renewal periods, extending through January 31, 2031. Specific award values and total budget ranges are not disclosed in the solicitation notice; however, estimated annual volumes are detailed in Appendix B of the sources sought notice. The products will be delivered weekly to the Seattle Division Microbiology Department with delivery schedules to be determined by the Puget Sound Health Care System (PSHCS) Microbiology Department. Place of performance is the Seattle VAMC facility in Seattle, Washington, where the microbiology laboratory operates to support clinical testing for the VA medical system.
