About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office (NCO) 6, located at the Fayetteville Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC), has issued a Special Notice announcing its intent to execute a sole source procurement with J&J MedTech for QDOT micro catheters. The procurement falls under the NAICS category 339112 for Surgical and Medical Instrument Manufacturing and will utilize the contracting authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) for single-source solicitation. The contract will cover a performance period from January 31, 2025, through March 31, 2025. This procurement is specifically focused on obtaining new original equipment manufacturer (OEM) medical supplies for VA Medical Centers, with strict requirements to prevent the introduction of gray market or remanufactured items.

The primary objective of this Special Notice is to secure QDOT micro catheters through a direct procurement with J&J MedTech, with critical stipulations around vendor qualifications and product authenticity. Interested parties must submit their capabilities and interest to serina.black1@va.gov by January 16, 2025, at 10:00 AM EST, though this is not a formal request for quotations. Vendor eligibility requires being an OEM, authorized dealer, authorized distributor, or authorized reseller, which must be verified through official documentation from the original equipment manufacturer. The VA mandates that all vendors provide documentation ensuring OEM warranty, service terms, and software licensing conditions are maintained. The agency reserves the right to enforce contractual remedies, including contract termination or requiring no-cost replacements, if gray market items are delivered. Ultimately, the government retains full discretion in determining whether to complete the proposed contract based on the responses received.
