About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Integrated Service Network 22 (VA Prescott Healthcare System), is issuing a sources sought synopsis to identify qualified manufacturers of the Hamilton-MR1 Ventilator Transport Package, with responses due August 14, 2026. This is a request for information and market research only, not a formal solicitation; the VA plans to use respondent feedback to inform acquisition strategy and may publish a subsequent solicitation on SAM or GSA eBuy.

The requirement is for a mechanical ventilation system designed specifically for use in Magnetic Resonance Imaging environments to provide respiratory support to patients undergoing diagnostic or therapeutic procedures. Respondents should identify themselves by business classification relative to NAICS 339112 (Surgical and Medical Instrument Manufacturing, 1,000-employee size standard): HUBZone, 8(a), small business, small disadvantaged business, VOSB, SDVOSB, or large business. The VA encourages identification of domestic alternatives manufactured in the United States.

The procurement carries a potential VOSB or SDVOSB set-aside: if market research establishes that two or more certified VOSB or SDVOSB firms can perform the work, the VA will set aside the underlying solicitation per 38 U.S.C. § 8127. Responses to this sources sought synopsis are not considered adequate responses to any subsequent formal solicitation. No pricing, quantity, period of performance, or dollar value is specified in this pre-solicitation notice.
