About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Integrated Service Network 22, is conducting a sources-sought market research for the procurement of a Hamilton-MR1 ventilator transport system, with responses due by August 4, 2026 at 6:00 am Pacific Time. This is an information-gathering RFI only and does not constitute a solicitation; however, the VA has indicated that a formal solicitation may be published on SAM and GSA eBuy following review of responses. VA Prescott Healthcare System requires one Hamilton-MR1 Package for providing mechanical ventilation to patients requiring respiratory support during Magnetic Resonance Imaging procedures. The requirement is brand name or equal, and the VA encourages identification of domestic alternatives manufactured in the United States.
The ventilator must be MR-conditional to 50 millitesla, compatible with both 1.5T and 3T scanners, weigh approximately 6.8 kilograms, support patient populations from neonatal through adult, operate on battery power for 8 to 9 hours, and be FDA 510(k) cleared. The package includes clinical training in Reno, oxygen hose, adult and pediatric configuration, trolley with intelligent brake system, lithium-ion batteries, and applications including trends/loops, NIV/NIV-ST, and DuoPAP/APRV. Responses must address business size classification (with emphasis on identifying VOSB or SDVOSB contractors), GSA FSS contract status, manufacturing capability, and Buy American Act compliance. If market research identifies two or more certified VOSB or SDVOSB firms able to perform the work, VA will set aside the underlying solicitation per 38 U.S.C. § 8127. Submit responses to Rochelle Malveaux at Rochelle.Malveaux@va.gov.
