About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Integrated Service Network 9 is conducting market research through a Sources Sought Notice to identify qualified vendors capable of providing BD Pyxis Medication Systems and associated components, along with base plus one option service and support contracts for the new Louisville VA Medical Center. The procurement encompasses 40 product line items including various Pyxis MedStation ES configurations, Pyxis Anesthesia System ES units, refrigerated storage systems, automated vertical carousels, controlled substance storage systems, label systems, and comprehensive software licenses, as well as 82 service line items covering installation, training, maintenance, and support. Key requirements include delivery between January 11-18, 2027, with products being new and unused with manufacturer dates no more than 24 months prior to purchase order issuance, on-site assembly and installation per OEM standards, live clinical training, compliance with VA Security Accreditation Package requirements, and Business Associate Agreement execution. The applicable NAICS code is 339112 (Surgical and Medical Instrument Manufacturing) with a size standard of 1,000 employees. Interested parties must submit responses electronically to Contract Specialist Phon Phasavath at Phon.phasavath@va.gov by March 10, 2026 at 8:00 a.m. CDT, not to exceed 10 pages in Microsoft Word or PDF format.
This procurement is issued with no set-aside designation, and no current contractor or incumbent is identified in the sources sought notice. The market research results will determine the final procurement method, which may potentially include set-asides for small disadvantaged businesses, service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses, or veteran-owned small businesses, or full and open competition. While a specific award value or budget range is not disclosed in this pre-solicitation notice, the scope suggests a substantial procurement involving comprehensive equipment outfitting and multi-year service and support obligations commencing upon final installation. All respondents must be registered in the System for Award Management and provide organizational details, business size classification, CAGE Code, UEI Number, and capability statements. Responses to this market research are voluntary with no financial obligation to the government, and submission of capability information does not constitute a request for bids, proposals, or quotes.
