About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), specifically the VISN 22 Long Beach Network Contracting Office, is conducting a Request for Information (RFI) to identify potential sources for an Otoscope-Earigator System for the VA Long Beach Healthcare System. The medical device must have integrated otoscope and irrigation functions, featuring automated temperature and pressure controls, one-person operation, short procedure lengths, LED illumination, and a pain-free design. Nupur Technologies, LLC is referenced as the current manufacturer with specific part numbers for the system components. Interested vendors are required to submit detailed capabilities statements addressing how they can meet the draft salient characteristics, with responses due by April 11, 2025, at 4:00 PM PST. The RFI seeks to gather market intelligence about potential suppliers, with a focus on companies within NAICS code 339112 and a size standard of 1,000 employees.
The pre-solicitation notice does not indicate a specific set-aside for small businesses, though it encourages responses from various business types including Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses, Veteran-Owned Small Businesses, and other designated categories. No specific award value or budget range is mentioned in the document. Respondents are asked to provide information about their business size, manufacturing capabilities, FDA clearances, lead times for delivery, and compliance with federal acquisition regulations. The RFI explicitly states that this is not a formal solicitation, and responses will be used solely for market research and future acquisition planning. Vendors are requested to submit their responses via email to the contract specialist, Emiljan Golemi, and provide details such as their SAM.gov Unique Entity ID, potential pricing information, and confirmation of compliance with regulations like the Buy American Act and limitations on subcontracting.
