About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs National Acquisition Center is soliciting offers for Famciclovir Tablets in three dosage strengths (125mg, 250mg, and 500mg) to be supplied to VA facilities, Department of Defense ordering activities, Indian Health Service, Bureau of Prisons, Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center, and participating State Veterans Homes. This is a Firm Fixed Price, Indefinite-Delivery Requirements contract with estimated annual requirements totaling 1,012 bottles of 125mg strength, 10,522 bottles of 250mg strength, and 13,642 bottles of 500mg strength. Offerors must provide FDA-approved products with unique 11-digit NDC numbers, certify current acceptable cGMP manufacturing facility status with the FDA, and submit a Letter of Commitment from the manufacturer if not self-manufacturing. Award will be made to the lowest-priced technically acceptable offer that meets all specifications. The original proposal deadline was March 30, 2026, but has been extended to April 6, 2026 at 2:30 PM Central Daylight Time, with proposals to be submitted via email to Richard Mahario and Nicholas McGregor.
This solicitation contains no set-aside designation and no incumbent contractor is identified. The contract includes a one-year base ordering period plus four one-year option periods, with an implementation period of up to 60 days following award. Estimated annual volumes indicate substantial demand, though specific budget figures are not disclosed in the solicitation documents. All offered prices must include a 0.5% Cost Recovery Fee, and contractors must submit quarterly sales reports within 30 days of each quarter with payment via ACH. Products will be distributed through existing Pharmaceutical Prime Vendor programs, including McKesson for VA and McKesson, Cencora, Cardinal Health, and DMS Pharmaceutical Group for DoD. Non-small businesses must submit an approved subcontracting plan with minimum goals for service-disabled veteran-owned and veteran-owned small business subcontracting.
