About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) is conducting market research for the procurement of an Emergency Quick Disconnect Switch and Weldment Handle for the USS Arleigh Burke DDG ship. The requirement is based on NAVSEA drawing 56W4-S115, specifically for manufacturer part numbers 56W4-S115 Pc27 and 56W4-S115 Pc41. This pre-solicitation notice is a Request for Information (RFI) aimed at identifying capable companies interested in providing these specialized components. Interested vendors are requested to submit their responses via email to ivan.moyanonino.ln@us.navy.mil and jorge.cubas.civ@us.navy.mil by February 12, 2025. The contracting activity is NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center Sigonella, Rota Site, and the final delivery location will be the FPO address in Rota, Spain.
The opportunity is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside, targeting small business manufacturers in the Switchgear and Switchboard Apparatus Manufacturing (NAICS 335313) category. The procurement is specifically for Switches (PSC 5930), with a focus on precise technical specifications. While the pre-solicitation notice does not commit the US Government to a contract or obligate them to cover response preparation costs, it represents a formal market research effort to gauge industry capability and interest. The notice emphasizes that this is not a Request for Quote or Proposal, but rather an initial exploration of potential vendor solutions for the specialized naval equipment. No specific award value or exact quantity beyond the initial requirement for the DDG ship was disclosed in the notice.
